Baby Bonus Scheme
The scheme is part of the Marriage and Parenthood Package and includes a cash gift and contributions to the Child Development Account (CDA).
Cash Gift - The Baby Bonus Cash Gift has been enhanced for eligible children born, or have an estimated delivery date, on or after 1 January 2015.
Child Development Account - The CDA is a special savings account for Singaporean children to help build up the savings that can be spent on approved uses at Baby Bonus Approved Institutions. When a CDA is opened, the child will receive CDA benefits comprising (a) the CDA First Step Grant which will be automatically credited after CDA opening and (b) dollar-for-dollar Government co-matching for each dollar that parents deposit in the CDA, up to the co-matching caps shown below. The CDA is opened until the year of the year that the child turns 12 years old.
Baby Bonus One-Stop Service - Parents who need assistance to join Baby Bonus online or perform other related e-services may approach the Citizen Connect Centres, or the Baby Bonus One-Stop Centres at the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the birth registration counters at these hospitals:
Gleneagles Hospital
KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Mount Alvernia Hospital
Mount Elizabeth Hospital
Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital
National University Hospital
Parkway East Hospital
Raffles Hospital
Singapore General Hospital
Thomson Medical Centre
Benefits of having a baby in Singapore:
Parents who have second babies from January will get more financial support from the Government through the Child Development Account (CDA). They will get $6,000 in co-funding, up from the current $3,000 for a first or second child, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Indranee Rajah announced in Parliament on Friday (Feb 26). This is in addition to the initial $3,000 that every child receives in his or her CDA.
